For both of you and others wondering, many thousands of planes are out there with extremely old landing gear. Do you fly anywhere? If you do, you are probably glad that the landing gear worked when you landed and didn't collaps from rust/corrosion. They are made from metal. FYI ... metal rusts. This is an extremely beneficial earmark. Why not "plan" for this in the budget? Ask our government officials. There are many possible reasons for not putting this in the "plan". Check that out before making accusations.
