Detailed Phygen, Inc Company Profile
This company profile is for the private company Phygen, Inc, located in Minneapolis, MN. Phygen, Inc's line of business is mfg industrial machinery coating/engraving service.

This company does not make a "plasma sterilizer" and if they are thinking of starting to make on...why are we the tax payers funding them. Sterrad (http://ASP.com) is a world wide company based out of Ca. and already makes the best "plasma sterilizer" Who or what are we really funding here

I believe the coating they create maybe used in Plasma Sterilizers.

Also, I emailed Rep. Ellison asking about this issue. I don't expect a reply but I will update if he ever gets back.

An article written by Janet Moore for the Minneapolis StarTribune from November 6, 2006 reads, "The core business helped fuel another technology that can be used in a new way -- an alternative method for sterilizing medical and surgical instruments that is cleaner and faster than conventional processes, not to mention environment-friendly."

http://www.startribune.com/535/story/749435.html

Also from the article: "Phygen has received about $3.5 million from the Department of Defense-U.S. Army to develop new ways to sterilize surgical and medical instruments in combat-support hospitals"

From my own research here, Phygen started lobbying in earnest this year with $20,000 going to the DLM Group. The lobbyists are William B. Driggers, former military and alum of The Citadel in South Carolina, I believe; Marcus P Lubin, former Chief of Staff for a Republican Congressman; and Claude V. Meadows. Previous years show Phygen spent $0 on lobbying, though they are listed as a client with a different firm.

There may be a story here, but I'm not sure what it would be.
